Our recently appointed Russian distributor, Cominvest AKMT, got off to a flying start with an order for 23 Applied 636HS sweepers to City of Moscow. These machines will also be supplied with a variety of winter maintenance equipment to ensure the busy tourist areas are kept litter-free all year round. We are very optimistic that Russia will prove a highly successful new territory for the Green Machine product range.

CELEBRATING OUR 1000TH CABBED SWEEPER CELEBRATING OUR 1000TH CABBED SWEEPER

Success goes in leaps and bounds as the 1000th cabbed machine rolls off the production line. The Applied 636HS is destined for the far flung City of Vladivostock in the Russian Federation, where it will be used by the University. It was sold by our Russian dealer Cominvest AKMT based in Moscow, who after a short time have enjoyed considerble success with the 636HS in Russia. This event was celebrated by all Applied staff who were very proud to welcome as our guests for the day the Vice Consul of the Consulate General in Edinburgh, Mr Grigory Antonenkov, accompanied by Mr Ewan Mearns of Scottish Enterprise.

Northern Cyprus has now discovered the Green Machines!! Represented here by Tekser Ltd the first 636 has been successfully installed into the City of Famagusta. This is a hot and dusty country without the "luxury" of the Scottish rain. This meant that the patented "Cloudmaker" system was especially important to the customer and has proved very effective for operation in an extremely dry environment.

City Machines Bulgaria Ltd have successfully been selling Green Machines into Bulgaria for just over a year. 7 have already been delivered to the City of Varna with 5 more already on the way there.In October the company took part in the Technical Exhibition in Plovdiv with an impressive stand. This roused a great deal of interest and the General Director of the Exhibition Centre, Mr Gergov, immediately bought 3 machines to clean this new and modern site. The stand was visited by the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Mr Stanishev, and the company and machines were featured on national TV stations and press.

APPLIED IN ARMENIA APPLIED IN ARMENIA

The interest in Armenia on the presentation of the first 4 x 414S2D Green machines delivered was immense. The complete Armenian press were gathered for this event which was personally attended by the British Ambassador Anthony Cantor, when 3 machines were delivered to the municipality of Arabkir in Yerevan, organised by the City Prefect Hovannes Shahinyan.One machine was also delivered to the President's Palace to be used in the gounds there. Further co-operation is planned in sweeping of the streets of Armenia.

One of the first of a fleet of machines sold to Municipalities in Serbia & Montenegro by Farm Industries in Novi Sad. This particular machine was bought by the Public Works Director for the Municipality of Krusavac, the dynamic third city of Serbia, south of Belgrade. With a major exhibition in October 2006, Deen and Saska Williams are confident that the success they are having with the Green Machines will go from strength to strength.
